A Thanksgiving Prayer
In the quiet of this tender night,
We gather close, hearts filled with light,
A simple feast, a gentle prayer,
For all the blessings we still share.
The table spread, the hearth aglow,
Yet what we cherish most, we know,
Is not in silver, food, or wine,
But in the love that intertwines.
We give our thanks for moments past,
For memories, both slow and fast —
The laughter shared, the tears that fell,
The stories we could never tell.
For hands that reached, for hearts that stayed,
For light that led us through the shade,
For all the seasons, rough and sweet,
That made us whole, that made us meet.
In simple grace, we lift our prayer:
For all who’ve given, for those who care,
For every soul that’s walked our way,
We thank you now, this blessed day.
Though time may pass, and years may fly,
The bonds we’ve woven never die —
So here’s to love, to life, to grace,
To every hand we still can trace.
On this Thanksgiving, let us see —
The greatest gift is simply we.
